    I would assume that you were tracking the sky and that an object
    in near-geosynchornous orbit would move through your field of view
    during the time of exposure.  
    
    The following object is known to flash to magnitude 8 every 1 or 2 seconds:

    It matches your altitude and azimuth at that time reasonably well.
