    Congrats on seeing a nice flashing geosat, as identified by Kevin. There is a good chance over the next few months around the equinox to see flashers or flaring geosats, all in that same area. Several posts on seesat describe how to look, and a few of them flare up as bright as 3rd magnitude, so if you've become acquainted with the stars, you might even see a few naked eye. The flashers are much harder to predicty, but as you saw, they can be quite bright.
