There was an error in the image-annotation: Soyuz TMA-19 is at the Rassvet module. The POISK module is at the Zenit side and there is the Soyuz TMA-18 docked. This is the corrected version: http://tinyurl.com/2c7j5mn Best wishes, Ralf ----- Original Message ----- From: Ralf Vandebergh To: seesat-l@satobs.org Sent: Tuesday, August 17, 2010 3:03 PM Subject: ISS OBSERVATIONS_Aug 14, 2010 subject: ISS OBSERVATIONS_Aug 14, 2010 ______________________________________ http://tinyurl.com/2g3lhgf Showed are 2 frames out of a favorable pass on Aug 14 during the current morning-visibility period. It's interesting to see the minor changes of the detail by the seeing, although the conditions were quite good. This is a great illustration of my general argument that stacking satellite images must be considered with care. As we never have many frames to stack, due to the fast movement and rapidly changing observing angle of the objects, the obtained average could be a more blurred result then one single frame provides. Only in real exellent conditions, stacking satellite images starts to show gain. Imagery: manually tracked 10inch Newtonian @0.25''/p in quite steady conditions (but not excellent). ________________ Ralf Vandebergh http://ralfvandebergh.startje.be/vieuw.php?qid=303316 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
