Jean-Marie Biets is a meteorphotographer who uses an all-sky camera to catch bright meteortrails. We live about 50 km apart (30 miles). Since a couple of years Jean-Marie sent me some photographs on which trails other than from meteors, ISS or Iridiums have been recorded. He then requests me to identify which satellite(s) is (are) responsible for the trail(s). Until last May I was able to identify all of them. In this way I could positively respond on his requests. At the end of May I reflected on these kind of observations. In fact it mostly concern satellites which flare. These observations support the purpose of the PNAS-collection. I requested Jean-Marie to send all his photographic records of the type I described above and he likes to do so. Using Guide 8 I was able to identify all satellites by comparing the photographed tracks with the simulated tracks as calculated and displayed for the specified time and Jean-Marie's location. Here follows the results of my identifications as PNAS-records using JMB as observer's ID. If a magitude is specified it is my (BD's) estimation. This is also true for the determination of time and position. As usual the time is that of the flare termination and the duration might hve been specified. If no duration is available the specified time is that in the middle of the flare, Observer's data: Jean-Marie Biets (JMB) Location: Wilderen (Belgium) 50° 49' 08.0" N 05° 08' 18.0" E 50 m ASL yy-nnncc yy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss.s ooo sss.s s.s nnn ff.fff comments 72- 79 B 10-05-24 01:05:04 JMB 8 flare +4.5 80- 19 G 10-07-17 23:15:36 JMB 15 flare +3.5 1954-05 80- 89 A 10-06-03 01:31:52 JMB 67 flare +2.5 83- 44 A 10-07-16 21:33:08 JMB 26 flare +3 1536+28 84-108 B 10-05-23 23:17:24 JMB 29 flare +1.5 84-108 B 10-05-24 00:57:44 JMB 4 flare +0.5 97- 28 A 10-07-04 22:41:45 JMB flare 99- 37 C 10-05-22 22:14:04 JMB 14 flare +3.0 99- 58 A 10-06-22 01:41:33 JMB 19 flare 1922+26 99- 68 A 10-06-12 21:49:35 JMB flare 99- 68 A 10-07-14 21:48:48 JMB 27 flare 1628+10 01- 44 A 10-05-23 00:07:40 JMB flare +4.5 01- 56 A 10-07-09 01:43:38 JMB 8 flare 02- 22 A 10-05-23 01:41:24 JMB flare +1.5 02- 22 A 10-06-26 01:29:25 JMB flare 2133-01 02- 37 A 10-07-12 22:57:30 JMB 22 flare 0850+44 03- 9 A 10-05-18 21:46:13 JMB 8 flare +0.3 03- 9 A 10-05-24 21:46:12 JMB 4 flare +0.5 03- 9 A 10-06-03 21:46:36 JMB 21 flare 03- 9 A 10-07-05 21:46:20 JMB 2 flare 03- 9 A 10-07-09 21:46:17 JMB 3 flare 1625+03 03- 9 A 10-07-17 21:46:19 JMB 4 flare +0.5 1655+04 03- 9 B 10-07-18 21:55:31 JMB 6 flare +1 1132+28 03- 9 B 10-07-26 21:10:54 JMB 3 flare +1.5 1225+59 04- 26 A 10-05-23 01:49:27 JMB flare +0.3 04- 26 A 10-06-03 01:31:13 JMB 20 flare -1 04- 26 A 10-06-24 01:50:21 JMB 83 flare 2055-06 05- 16 A 10-07-12 22:16:02 JMB 36 flare 1834+18 06- 16 A 10-07-19 01:37:39 JMB 21 flare +1 2232-15 06- 26 A 10-06-05 01:18:59 JMB 29 flare +1.5 07- 5 E 10-06-04 00:47:18 JMB 28 3 flashes 07- 20 C 10-07-06 00:27:53 JMB 20 flare 2049+25 08- 37 A 10-05-22 21:19:54 JMB 5 flare +0.5 Bram Dorreman on behalf of Jean-Marie Biets _______________________________________________ Seesat-l mailing list http://mailman.satobs.org/mailman/listinfo/seesat-l
