If anyone has any info I would love to hear more about this event, so far
I'm finding nothing. We were south of Cooperstown NY heading toward
Binghamton but still an hour from there. Coordinates for roughly where we were
are: 42.60241 N, -74.9256 W, we were roughly near Milford, NY.

Interestingly, yesterday I took a phone call from a person on eastern Long
    Island, NY who reported
a spectacular greenish fireball meteor that "zipped under the Moon" on
    Saturday, August 1 at
approximately 8:45 p.m. This person said that she has been periodically
    watching the local sky
for some 40-years and " . . . never saw a more impressive meteor in any of
    the various meteor
showers" that she has viewed over these many years.
