There has been discussion I believe on this list in the past about the Space Fence: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Fence which is the source for the data for most of our LEO satellite TLEs but I always wondered about geosynch satellites because they don't pass the space fence. I figured it was done optically. Well I was reading an article about a local radio telescope and found the answer. This article was of interest to me because my local astronomy club meets on the same land that these antennas are on for observing. Also I've gotten a tour of these radio telescopes before: http://www.spacemart.com/reports/MIT_Lincoln_Lab_Upgrades_Sputnik_Era_Antenna_999.html - George Roberts http://gr5.org ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
