This is probably O.T. as we are unlikely to visually see this golf ball but I just came across this report: www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14483317/ It states that the publicity stunt golf shot which originally had been planned for June is now scheduled to take place during a spacewalk on Nov. 23. It continues to state that NASA safety officers have cleared the stunt and that the golf ball *will return to Earth's atmosphere in three days* . I'm not an expert at golf and wouldn't know how much delta-v a cosmonaut in an EVA suit can depart on a golf ball but I would guess it takes a little longer to come down. This reminds me about the press reports after the release of Suitsat earlier this year when NASA was quoted as saying it would reenter within six weeks. Well Suitsat is still up there (albeit winding down quickly now). NASA PR might be said to be a tad off the mark with their reentry predictions!
