G'day Mates, some observers in Australia who don't mind getting up early in the morning might be able to see Aft Skirt flares from the Hubble Space Telescope (provided the preliminary HST timeline for Week 34 is followed). All times are UTC (which would make the date the following morning local time). HST target Uranus: Port Hedland, WA, 23-AUG-05 21:50:00 UTC HST target NGC 1309: Moorie, NSW, 24-AUG-05 18:40:58 UTC Grafton, NSW, 24-AUG-05 18:41:17 UTC HST target 47 Tuc: Mount Isa, Qd, 25-AUG-05 20:17:25 UTC Dampier, WA, 25-AUG-05 21:53:30 UTC HST target NGC 1309: Perth, WA, 27-AUG-05 21:51:15 UTC The HST targets given are what the HST is pointing at and NOT what observers should look at! The places given are not exactly at the central line for the flares but are close enough to hopefully see a bright flare. (The final one passes a little to the North of Perth.)
