Ron Welch reported a flashing object August 7, 1048UT ar RA (1950) 20h 32.2min, dec -9.71 from his Canberra location. I have identified this as 79 35E, #17783, a Block DM rocket in a near GEO orbit that put raduga 5 ( #11343 ) up there. I have added it to my list of geoflashers at http://home.iprimus.com.au/aberesford/tle/geoflsh.txt At the same time I have removed Cosmos 1030 ( 11015) as it it now has such a large drag it would be hard to follow. I bring it to list memebers attention. The current perigee is just south of the equator and at only 105Km, so the drag is large. Here are the latest 5 elsets from OIG. It will oviously decay much closer to the equator than most of the molniya orbit objects.
