Hello List, After being of this list for a while I'm again back. I succesfully observed asteroid 2002 NY40 Saturday night and I really liked searching (and finding) this rapidly, somewhat faint, object. This made me think about observing satellites with rather excentric orbits and I, rather immediately, thought of Chandra, which I know has been observed by some of you on this list. I checked and I could not find any passes where Chandra climbes over Europe just after passing the perigee of its orbit. I do know that XMM is going to make such a pass tomorrow, so, if the weather is okay, I might go and try to observe it. Unfortunately I could not find a standard magnitude of XMM. Using Chandra's stdmag of 3.0 I get magnitudes around 8, which seems quite bright to me and makes me wonder why I haven't heard of people observing it. So, what is XMM's standard magnitude and has anyone ever observed it?
