Aug 10 I searched in vain with Sun only at -10 for a low eastern
pass of Ir 24 tum. After that, looking WSW at about 20:43:43 UT
I saw a mag 0 "steady" satellite. It faded only slowly to mag 3
after about 20 s, then before being lost in the evening sky, it
flared briefly to mag -1 at 20:44:40.

Time and position agree with #24680
