I observed Ir48 #25107 for about 110 sec (lost it when I had to move
to see it between trees in the N) and saw no brightness variation -
except for a slight dimming when I acquired it at 39 deg. el in the S.

    Within 100 sec before Ir48, C*468 r #20436 and SPOT-2 #05707 temporarily
confused me. All three passed 0.4 deg from one point in the binocular
    field I was watching.
