No TLE yet from OIG. According to NASA and Florida Today the docking will take place at 20:14 UT on Tuesday August 8th. http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/station/index.html http://www.flatoday.com/space/explore/stories/2000b/080700d.htm Prior to docking, at 4:00 EDT (08:00 UT 8/8) there will be a visible pass where the ISS will pass just north of the great lakes, over Ottawa, and Boston. From the Baltimore Washington area the ISS will be in the NNE about 28 deg above the horizon. Hopefully the Progress will trail by a short distance. TiPS Question: Since I've been able to observe the tether on TiPS I've wondered about the source of the light from the tether. With other objects it's reflected sunlight. Since the tether is 2mm diameter acrylic yarn, am I really seeing reflected light or the result of some electrical charge that is building on the tether? If it is an electrical charge, then is the tether visible in eclipse?
