Unpredicted flare from Ir 73?

Tonight 00-08-01 at about 21:01:15 i saw a flare at 30 deg el. in
the S, lasting about 10 s. at mag -3.
I then followed the object in binoculars to beta and eps Lyr, and
later identified it as #25344 Iridium 73?. It was not predicted to
flare, indeed there are no flares in the S within a week or more.
