After attempting to observe Chandra every evening this week, I was
successful on 31 July at 0205UT. It was observed with my 44cm (17-inch)
Dobsonian reflector under the gaze of the 11 street lights + neighbors
lights plus oncoming cars that pass within 50 feet of the telescope. This is
my normal observing site!

Chandra was observed at a range of 49, 686 km, elevation 78, azimuth 110,
at magnitude 12. It brightened briefly to 11.6 and was observed for about 2
full minutes. The telescope was moved to another position 20 minutes later
where the range had extended by an additional 8,000 km and I could not see
it.
