The GPS satellites are inclined, circular orbits with an altitude of
about 10,900 mi. The central core of each satellite is about 11 ft x
11ft x 8ft. The side with the GPS transmit antennas points
continuously towards Earth. Two solar panels extend from the central
core almost 25ft on two sides. The solar panels are gimballed to face
the Sun as much as possible.
