Hello everyone,
I've uploaded a screenshot of our current internal rotation period website to here:
https://spacedebris.dlr.de/object_details.pdf
It is not unlike the satflare site, but it aggregates observations of the same object to make it easier to see long term evolutions.
Currently, it only supports rotation periods, but I could (and I'd like to) extend it to flash pattern and lightcurves.
Concerning data formats: I believe the modern way is to have a database (e.g. MySQL) in the background and a bunch of import and export modules. So each user can be using their own format for input and anyone can see that data in their preferred format. We could include PPAS format, Leo's format, the asteroid format suggested by John Dormer, ESAs CCSDS standard tracking data message (https://public.ccsds.org/Pubs/503x0b1c1.pdf) and others.
As I said, I am happy to take over the programming of such a database. However, I will probably not be able to host and run it. Reporting on classified satellites, especially light curves which may be seen as reconnaissance as they contain info about the objects shape, is always a legally delicate business. As I receive part of my day job salary from military institutions, I must tread carefully there. But if anyone else would step up and offer their webspace for it and take the responsibility, I can do the coding. Let me know.
Best regards
Daniel
