Dear Satobs community,

I am new to this new community and would like to say “hello” with my first
email.

I would like to know if there are people here who are observing the NOAA
satellites and the ISS and regularly release their data.

I am interested in these data sets because I would like to use observation
data from these objects to validate the OrbitDeterminator software my team
is working on. I am taking part in Google Summer of Code 2018[0] with
AerospaceResearch.net and we want to process tracking data and generate
Two-Line Elements (TLEs) from there.

I checked the last couple of days of the archive[1] and could not find data
for it. So it would be really nice of you to answer here, if you are
observing them, or point me to a person I could contact. I would really
appreciate your help.

Objects I would like to evaluate:

25338 NOAA-15

28654 NOAA-18

33591 NOAA-19

25544 ISS

Thank you in advance,

Jorge

If you want to know more about the project I will work on:

The goal of the project is track cubesats with the Distributed Ground
Station Network by by trilatering the position of their transmitted
signals. The OrbitDeterminator software is used to process the data and
create the TLE for it.

My task is to evaluate the software by comparing the results generated for
the same object but from different “sources”. The ISS for example is
transmitting APRS radio transmissions the DGSN can track. We will use the
NORAD TLE to compare it. But the software shall also be able to import
other formats like your observations to calculate the TLE. And of course
this will generate another result for checking how good the software is.

The code is already open source and I will add the explained features to
it. Check our github code[2].
