    Just wanted to say thanks for the on and off list replies.
    The discussion is in an aviation newsgroup and comparing
    the merits of GPS nav to other air nav systems and their
    failure modes. I now have enough info to to jump in on
    their thread.
    
    (duh on me...forgot about wikipedia and I use it all the time)
