Greetings from Russia! There is another opportunity to catch Iridium flares near Saturn in northern latitudes over this weekend. I have looked through Iridflar and Heavens-Above predictions for Moscow (55.75N, 37.61E) and noticed a series of flares in Gemini closer and closer to Saturn. The best one is Iridium 61 flare on Sunday, May 2nd, at 23:41:54 MSK (UT+0400). This time the peak brightness of flare is exactly at the moment of satellite's closest approach to Saturn! Can I ask Thomas Fly or Kevin Fetter to create a path prediction for the Iridium 61 transiting Saturn on May 2nd between 19:41 and 19:43 UT like you did for ISS Jupiter transit in February? Denis P.S. Three images of February 12, 2004 flare are posted at http://www.astronomy.ru/forum/index.php?board=6;action=display;threadid=4358 Peak of flare was about 4 degrees south-west from Saturn, so it looks like exclamation mark! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe/Unsubscribe info, Frequently Asked Questions, SeeSat-L archive: http://www.satobs.org/seesat/seesatindex.html
