FWIW, I found Southern Cross to be in az. 147 at the time, and between az 310 and 352 appr I found the following objects. Could the two bright stars be Castor and Pollux in az 329? Jupiter more to the N, but no more bright ? Sirius and Orion in the W ! I added the period from Ed Cannons web list, where I could find a match: TLE file: C:\TLE\alldat.tle Configuration file: Sydney2.CFG Tracking site: 200 km S of Sydney, Australia Timezone: +10.0 hours Report times: Local Latitude: -35.7000 Longitude: +151.2833 Altitude: +0.0 meters Elevation Azim Elev Cat # Satellite Period ---- ---- ----- ---------------- 332 37 03432 68081E 347 41 04068 69069A 349 35 05709 71116A 317 20 06974 73100B 317 20 10159 77071A 314 22 10975 78068A 332 29 11145 78113B 340 37 13269 82058A 327 33 13431 82082A p ~6 344 33 14114 82044F 317 21 14117 82009F 315 30 14365 83098A 318 24 14951 84031F 342 40 15166 ArianeVSyldaDb 312 28 15383 84113B 320 28 15386 84114B 349 37 15678 85035B 352 45 16657 Ariane 3 Rk 351 36 16667 86027A 328 31 17065 86082F 350 38 18384 87084A 326 31 18446 87091D 314 25 19017 Gorizont 15 p=16.2 329 39 19508 88086A 338 36 19596 88095A p=98.8 323 37 19857 88051G 318 29 19928 89030A 349 44 20168 89062A 351 41 20217 89070A 310 32 20705 TDF-2 p=21.6 325 28 20836 74060F 328 34 21046 90102D 336 37 21533 Gorizont 23 p=55.8 312 26 21641 91054D 331 37 21789 Cosmos 2172 P=146 352 41 21805 DSP F16 344 40 21922 92017A 312 36 21964 92027A 332 29 21966 Palapa B4 PAM 331 37 22044 92043D 313 37 22931 93078B 338 46 23185 94043A 350 43 23451 94087D 323 42 23649 95043A 328 43 23651 95044A 340 45 23712 95060A 335 45 23781 96007A 332 45 23943 96039A 322 41 24732 97007A 320 40 24798 97021A 316 28 25525 PAS 8 Rk 318 39 25630 99006A 309 34 25894 99046A 316 39 26089 00011A 335 45 27461 02035B 318 42 90008 Unk 001203 p=2.38 ----- Original Message ----- From: "Russell Eberst" <eberst@blueyonder.co.uk> To: <SeeSat-L@satobs.org> Sent: Tuesday, April 22, 2003 2:16 PM Subject: Flashing sat > Following message is on astro.satellite-observe list: > > Hi all, my friend told me you might be able to help me...
