Following message is on astro.satellite-observe list: Hi all, my friend told me you might be able to help me... We were down on our property 200kms south of Sydney last night (20.4.03, 8:00pm Aust.Eastern Standard time) and saw an object in the sky that flashed quite brightly once every 23-25 seconds. It didn't appear to be moving - we watched it for about 15 minutes. I don't know anything about the night sky, but it was north (pretty much directly opposite the southern cross), directly above two bright stars that were in line with each other (making an almost vertical line). We were thinking it was some kind of rotating satellite or space station - do you guys know what it could have been? We saw two other random satellite's on the night... it was great fun! Thanks for any help you can give me... Any ideas on what looks like a geostat?
