Calling Kiwis ( in New Zealand) The "trumpet" satellite USA 103, is currently visible from NZ sites as it exits the Earth's shadow on its N-S track around 0230 NZT. It is then about mag 6 for a hypothetical observer in AucklAND. The orbit has recently been altered and observations from NZ would be useful in refining it. This track is too far East for me to observe. Northern hemisphere observers need telescopes. The latest orbital elements from Mike McCants are: USA 103 1 23097U 94026A 01114.73866045 0.00000000 00000-0 +00000+0 0 00 2 23097 63.3096 51.6008 7244000 273.0474 86.9526 2.00339797 00 Tony Beresford Adelaide So.
